The world is loud.
News never stops.
Bills keep coming.
Relationships strain.
Health scares hit.
Uncertainty everywhere.
Anxiety creeps in.
Worry takes over.
Sleep gets stolen.
You feel like you're drowning in it all.
But Jesus said something different.
John 14:27 “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”
Not the world's peace.
Not "everything's fine" fake calm.
Not conditional on good days.
His peace.
Real.
Deep.
Steady.
Even when the world is falling apart.
Remember the storm on the lake?
Waves crashing.
Boat sinking.
Disciples terrified.
Jesus?
Sleeping.
They woke Him: "Teacher, don't you care if we drown?"
He got up.
Rebuked the wind and waves. "Quiet! Be still!"
The storm stopped.
Instant calm.
Then He asked: Mark 4:40 “Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?”
The peace wasn't just the stopped storm.
It was Him in the boat.
With them.
In control.
Even before the wind died down.
That's the peace He offers you.
Not always stopping every storm.
But being in it with you.
Calming your heart first.
Philippians 4:6-7 “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
Transcends understanding.
Doesn't make sense to the world.
You can be in chaos... and still have peace.
Because it's not from circumstances. It's from Him.
Guarding your heart. Guarding your mind.
How do you grab hold of it? Simple. Real. Daily steps:
Bring the worry straight to Him—no filter, no fancy words. Just honest.
Thank Him for what He's already done (even small things). Gratitude shifts your eyes.
Hand it over. Don't take it back.
Repeat His promises out loud when fear hits: "He cares for me" (1 Peter 5:7). "He will never leave me" (Hebrews 13:5).
Breathe. Rest in knowing He's bigger than the problem.
It won't always feel instant.
But keep coming back.
Keep laying it down.
The peace builds.
It guards.
It stays.
Real talk: The world can't give this. It offers distractions. Temporary fixes. More noise.
They fade. His peace endures.
So in this crazy world... You don't have to live anxious.
You can live peacefully.
Not because everything's fixed. Because He's with you. And He's enough.
Wow. Isn't that the peace we've been searching for?
Take a moment right now.
What's one worry weighing you down? Bring it to Him. Let His peace come in.
He's waiting.
Right here.
Right now.
