You don’t need a dramatic moment.
No lightning bolt.
No overnight miracle.
No viral testimony.
You just need one small yes.
One quiet obedience.
One “Okay, God” when everything in you wants to say no.
One step when the path looks foggy.
And that’s enough.
Because God takes the small and multiplies it.
Look at the widow in 2 Kings 4.
She had almost nothing—just a little oil and a desperate need.
Elisha told her:
“Go around and ask all your neighbors for empty jars. Don’t ask for just a few.”
She could have said, “This is silly. What good will empty jars do?”
But she obeyed.
Small. Simple. Obedient.
She poured.
The oil kept flowing.
Until every jar was full.
Then the oil stopped.
Her small obedience turned scarcity into abundance.
Paid her debts.
Fed her family.
Changed everything.
Jesus did the same with the boy’s lunch.
John 6:9
“Here is a boy with five small barley loaves and two small fish, but how far will they go among so many?”
Small. Insignificant.
But the boy gave it anyway.
Jesus took it.
Gave thanks.
And fed over 5,000 people—with leftovers.
Small obedience.
Big breakthrough.
He said it Himself:
Matthew 17:20
“Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”
Mustard seed faith.
Tiny.
But powerful when placed in His hands.
God doesn’t need your perfection.
He needs your availability.
That small yes could look like:
Forgiving someone who doesn’t deserve it.
Deleting that app that’s pulling you away.
Texting encouragement to someone when you feel empty yourself.
Tithing when the numbers don’t add up.
Praying one more time when you’re tired of waiting.
Saying no to sin when the temptation is loud.
One small act of obedience opens the door.
Because obedience isn’t about size—it’s about surrender.
And when you surrender the small, He handles the big.
Zechariah 4:10
“Who dares despise the day of small things, since the seven eyes of the Lord that range throughout the earth will rejoice when they see the chosen capstone in the hand of Zerubbabel?”
Don’t despise the small things.
God rejoices in them.
He sees.
He’s building something massive through your tiny yeses.
Real talk:
We want the breakthrough now.
The big win.
The instant change.
But most breakthroughs come from a thousand small obediences strung together.
So stop waiting for the perfect moment.
Stop waiting to feel ready.
Stop waiting for more faith.
Just obey in the small things today.
One step.
One yes.
Watch what He does with it.
Wow.
Isn’t it amazing that the God of the universe uses the smallest acts to do the greatest things?
What’s one small obedience you can say yes to right now?
Do it.
He’s already smiling.
